The purpose of this paper is to explore the relationship between organizational strategy, performance management and training and development in the context of the Jordanian banking sector. Models of strategic human resource management developed in the west are considered for their relevance in Jordan. A mixed methods approach is adopted employing interviews with senior managers and training and development managers, employee questionnaires and documentary analysis. It examines all banks in Jordan including foreign and Islamic banks. Findings indicate that training and development is not driven by human resource strategy and that it is reactive rather than proactive.
This paper seeks to propose a conceptual framework for defining the relationship between training and development and retaining employees through job satisfaction as the intermediary variable in Yemen's banking sector. Indeed, employee retention is a critical success factor for organizations worldwide. Training and development is also one of the most vital issues of human resource management. By reviewing the literature, it is clear that theorists, academicians as well managers emphasize that training and development is an essential and decisive factor. The process of financial development in India has hinged effectively on the development of banking system. The first objective of present paper is to study existing status of training and development programmes banks for their employees.
The study was an attempt to investigate and analysis of training needs assessment and its importance in the banking sector of Bangladesh. The findings addressed that the training needs assessment is prerequisite for an effective training that helps for organisational growth and development. The data of this study was collected via email and over telephone interview of 50 respondents of NBL which analysed and presented in terms of charts and graphs. Consequently the recommendations support for the noteworthy of needs assessment of training which will bring a constructive worth in this sector of Bangladesh and in overseas.
Training and development is significant a part of the human resource management. Employees are entrusted different roles and responsibilities in the banks. Training enables them to carry out these roles and responsibilities efficiently and also learn new things, which will prepare them to take up higher responsibilities in the future. Training: The aim of any training programme is to provide instruction and experience to new employees to help them reach the required level of performance in their jobs quickly and economically.
